INTERMAT 2015

We have recently returned from another successful Intermat Show 2015 in Paris.

Our new Ninja Button bit was launched at the show, a product suitable for most hard rock, top-hammer drilling applications. It is available in sizes ranging from 48mm to 64mm.

The bits feature distinct angle-faced grooves and deeper lateral flushing flutes, which aid in rock removal from the bit face and increase drilling speeds The NEW Ninja Button Bits have earned good reviews in the field, with users saying the bits drill straighter.

Steve Harper, product manager for Padley & Venables points out that straighter drilling also lessens the stress on rods, shanks and couplings that come behind the bits.

The open-face design of the bits enable the rock to fall into the void between the three face tips before being crushed, which adds directional stability and helps create the straighter hole.

BAUMA CHINA 2014

IMAG0043

After being a regular exhibitor at Bauma Munich trade exhibitions, Padley & Venables decided to participate at Bauma China 2014 (November 25-28, Shanghai New International Expo Centre) for the first time.

Bauma China with 300,000m2 of exhibition space, more than 3,100 exhibitors and over 191,000 visitors is the biggest trade show for construction equipment, machinery and building material.

After a long 18 hour trip from Sheffield to Manchester via Paris to Shanghai, our exhibition team (Glyn Storey, Steve Harper and Hans-Joachim Kopp) reached our stand in Hall N2.110, which was part of the CEA UK Pavilion.

Our stand was a corner stand – based in an ideal location near the entrance and exit doors of the hall and in the main walkway between halls N1 and N3. We were displaying pictures and product samples of our 3 product groups: rock-drilling, demolition- and contractors tools.

As soon as the show opened, we had our first visitor from Russia asking for rock-drilling brochures and distributor opportunities for Russia. As the show continued over the next few days, we had a good mix of existing and potential customers turning up.

We had a great opportunity to meet up with customers from countries as varied as Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia and even a few European customers from Ireland, Denmark and UK turned up.

We also made some progress in finding more distributors for China with the meetings at Bauma to be followed up during the coming weeks.

Overall our first participation at Bauma China 2014 can be considered a great success, and we are looking forward to returning to Bauma China 2016 in two years’ time. We were also very pleased with the professional organisation of the CEA UK Pavilion, Bauma China 2014 and the friendly hospitality of the Chinese people.

Padley & Venables launch our new Dual Drive Shank Rods.

Padley & Venables of Sheffield are pleased to announce the launch of a new Product – Dual Drive Shank Rods.

Launched in Sweden in May 2014 at Maskin Expo at the Aronsborg Conference Center, P&V are sure that this new product will become an invaluable tool in the Rock Drilling industry.

stage

Maskin Expo is a general equipment exhibition encompassing farming and forestry machinery as well as rock drilling.

This years’ Aronsborg event was organized by Global Drilling in association with Sandvik and Atlas under the umbrella of BEF, the Rock Drilling companies association. Many of its members were invited and exhibited.

Dual Drive Shank Rods

Designed to minimise the problems associated with premature breakage and the resulting downtime, the revolutionary design of the Dual-Drive Shank Rod isolates the threads from bending forces created by bit deflection while drilling, greatly reducing the stress on threads.

Forces are transmitted more effectively to the face of the bit through the skirt and body of the bit, therefore reducing exposure of the threads to potentially damaging percussive forces.

Dirt and rock debris are tough on threads; our unique design protects the threaded connection from exposure to debris while exiting the hole, this extends thread life.
