Bauma Conexpo Africa 2015

Having recently returned from exhibiting at Bauma Conexpo Africa 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa, we wish to thank all our existing and new customers for attending the show and visiting our booth. It was the first time for Padley & Venables to exhibit at this event, which has only been held once before.

The first edition was held under the name of Bauma Africa, and it celebrated a successful premiere taking up 60,000 square meters of exhibition space with 754 exhibitors from 38 countries and 14,700 visitors from more than 110 countries.

We presented our 3 product groups: Contractors’ Tools, Demolition Tools and Rock-Drilling and had considerable interest, especially in the recently launched (Intermat Paris 2015) Ninja button bits. Also the ‘Ninja’ branded baseball caps were very popular freebies and were proudly worn by many attendees of the show.

With our local distributors actively involved with the exhibition, many existing customers visited and future business relationships could be forged.

We also had some very interesting discussions and exchange of ideas with existing customers and professionals from the Rock Drilling, Mining and Construction industries about current tooling requirements and future solutions we can provide for these sectors.

According to the Bauma Conexpo Africa 2015 organisers:

“14,300 visitors from 75 countries attended the second edition of the International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines and Construction Vehicles. 13 percent of the visitors came from outside of South Africa with a significant increase in percentage from sub-Saharan Africa.”

It could only be added that the quality of the visitors from South Africa and the rest of Africa had been very good and we should be able to develop some fruitful future business relationships.

We are looking forward to attending the 3rd edition of the show in 2018.

INTERMAT 2015

We have recently returned from another successful Intermat Show 2015 in Paris.

Our new Ninja Button bit was launched at the show, a product suitable for most hard rock, top-hammer drilling applications. It is available in sizes ranging from 48mm to 64mm.

The bits feature distinct angle-faced grooves and deeper lateral flushing flutes, which aid in rock removal from the bit face and increase drilling speeds The NEW Ninja Button Bits have earned good reviews in the field, with users saying the bits drill straighter.

Steve Harper, product manager for Padley & Venables points out that straighter drilling also lessens the stress on rods, shanks and couplings that come behind the bits.

The open-face design of the bits enable the rock to fall into the void between the three face tips before being crushed, which adds directional stability and helps create the straighter hole.
