Opening:

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

Padley & Venables is a long established, successful company supplying rock drilling equipment and contractors tools to a worldwide customer base

The company operates a wide range of plant including forging presses, CNC & manual machining, heat treatment, friction welding and other operations

Duties will include;
  • Performing planned maintenance
  • Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns
  • Fault finding/diagnostics/repairs
  • Working in diverse areas i.e. forging operations, heat treatment, shotblast CNC & manual machining, friction welding etc.
To be suitable for this role, you will;
  • Have mechanical and electrical engineering skills & qualifications
  • Ideally be Ipaf trained
  • Have experience in a manufacturing/production environment
  • Be able to work unsupervised as part of a small multi-disciplined team
  • Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships
  • Be able to work overtime, sometimes at short notice
  • Be IT literate
  • Have the ability to work efficiently to ensure all tasks are carried out in a safe manner
Hours of work are;
  • 7.30am – 4pm Monday to Thursday
  • 7.30am – 2.30pm Friday
Salary:
  • £15.45 per hour
  • Overtime available
  • 25 days plus stats holidays
  • Occupational sick pay after 6 months employment, increasing entitlement with length of service.

Opening:

Junior Process Engineer.

Reports to: Foreman

Padley & Venables is a long established, successful company supplying rock drilling equipment and contractors tools to a worldwide customer base

We are currently seeking a Junior Process Engineer for our manufacturing facility in Dronfield. Your main responsibility will be process monitoring and improvement of our manufacturing processes. You will provide day-to-day process support to ensure the product conforms to the required specification.

Key Tasks & Accountabilities;
  • Ensure all safety procedures, methods and practices are adhered to.
  • Record timings and changes to product routings to match the manufacturing process.
  • Provide data analysis in support of process improvements, including managing current data capture systems.
  • Create and manage process documentation such as operating instructions and set-up sheets.
  • Develop and implement metrics to monitor and improve performance processes.
  • Mechanical design of tooling and fixtures.
  • Managing tooling manufacture.
Essential Experience, Qualifications & Attributes
  • Mechanically biased educated to HND level minimum.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD would be an advantage (Autodesk Preferred).
  • Ability to pay attention to detail is crucial
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Must have good, confident communication skills
Hours of work are;
  • 7.30am – 4pm Monday to Thursday
  • 7.30am – 1.30pm Friday
